About me:

I am a writer, editor, and reader. I have written and self-published two novellas, and the experience has given me a great respect for the work that authors put into their writing. Although my primary focus as a copy editor is ensuring that a manuscript or article is free of errors, I also think it is extremely important to preserve the author’s voice. When I copy edit, I am careful not to change too much and lose the author’s personal style. Because I respect the effort it takes to create a book, I treat every manuscript and author with care—I am not one of those editors who scribbles all over every page with a red pen.

I have always had a passion for grammar and the English language, which makes me a meticulous editor because I work tirelessly to make sure that a manuscript is as close to perfect as possible. As a reader and an editor, I believe that editing is important because issues such as typos and choppy sentences can detract from the quality of a text. I think of editing as cleaning a window—just like a window needs to be removed of dirt, writing needs to be polished until its full potential can shine. My passion is turning someone’s work into the best possible form of itself.
